*PANIC STATIONS* there’s snow in London! Well, not proper snow (it’s not even settling) but enough to send everyone in to a frenzy and for the transport system to come to a grinding halt. At least it gives the weathermen something to get excited over eh?!
I promised myself that after Christmas present shopping, I’d hold off spending on anything frivolous but weather like tonight is begging for a spot of online shopping. I got sucked in to browsing the Hush sale tonight and ended up treating myself to a few “essentials” that I obviously need in order to get through this wintery weather. Sigh.
So what else do I need to make wintery days like this perfect? Check out my edit of essentials.
Zara Scarf – priced from £15
I love a big chunky scarf to snuggle with in cold weather and nobody does them quite like Zara. I have a big houndstooth print one that I bought a few years ago. It’s so big that it’s more of a blanket and I often just walk around the house wrapped in it when it’s cold out. Your spoilt for choice for nice designs there but I love this herringbone grey colourway – goes with anything and is an affordable price point.
Ok – disclaimer (again), I work for west elm but I LOVE the textural design of this mug. I have a whole collection of west elm mugs at home now and they are the perfect size for hot drinks. Mugs also make great gifts, especially when paired with a nice box of tea! Talking of which…
Bluebird Tea – £5.50 for a 50g pouch
Oh I do love tea. I was first introduced to Bluebird at a pop up shop hosted at West Elm that was curated by 91Magazine just before Christmas. I’ve become a little obsessed with them ever since. Not that long ago, I wouldn’t drink anything other than a good old English Breakfast but I’m getting pretty daring in 2017 with flavour…I know, I am SO wild. This Apple Strudel flavour is delicious AND award winning!
The OA – Netflix
No winter night in is complete without something good to watch on the box. I’m not that in to sci fi-esque stuff usually but The OA is soooooo goooooood. I watched it
pretty much in one day all over Christmas + New Year and it’s one of those series that totally sucks you in. Watch it and let me know what you think!
Clement & Claude Candle – From £14
You know you’re getting old when you get REALLY in to candles. Not only are the Clement & Claude ones super cute in their brown glass jars but they smell divine. I’ve lit mine almost every night since I got it (end of November) and it’s not even burnt halfway through. The smell is as potent now as it was then. They’re hand poured in South West London and are 100% soy wax.
Hush Beanie –
My mum bought me a pair of PJs from Hush way back when they first opened (I was in my early teens at the time I think) and I’ve bought (or have been bought) something from them a couple of times a year, every year since! Effectively I’m one of their original groupies and I’m SO glad they’ve expanded in to everyday clothes as well as leisurewear. I’ve just been enticed to buy a ton of stuff from their sale (their sales are always awesome) and included in that mix is this beanie. Though I’m not the biggest hat wearer, they are super practical in cold weather. I had to have it.
Hush Ivy Jumper –
This is a total bargain right now! The Hush jumpers I’ve owned so far wash up so well and you can’t beat cosying up in a big chunky knit on a cold winter’s day. Only a couple of sizes left now so hurry hurry if you want to snap one of these up!
What’s on your winter wishlist?
