In the past 5 years I have started approximately 10 blogs, mostly about mind numbingly dull things that would bore most people to tears. To be honest, I think that’s probably why they didn’t last long. Just writing them had me conked out at my laptop! The timing wasn’t right for any of them and I don’t think I was in the right frame of mind to write anything meaningful.
Now in my late twenties (and I realise I sound like a total cheeseball saying this) I’ve hit that stage where I’ve started to realise exactly who I am, what I want out of life and what makes me happy. It’s not been an easy journey to get here – and I’ll touch on why that is in my posts – but I will be using this blog to share my thoughts, inspire, bring a smile to your face and get up, close and personal with you.
Questionably Essential Facts About Me:
- I was born and raised in/around London and now reside in Surbiton…yes that is in Surrey. For any non-Brits reading this, it’s a town SW of London, 20mins on the train from Waterloo station and just one stop on from Wimbledon (where the tennis is). I’ve got the best of both worlds round here – close to the countryside and equally as close to city life.
- Despite being VERY British, I am pretty much an honorary American. I don’t have a passport or anything but I went to an American high school (in England…big up ACS Cobham), did a brief stint working on a TV show filmed in The Hamptons, NY after I finished uni and now work for a very awesome American homewares brand. I tend to go out there about 3-4 times a year. Racking up those stamps in my passport now!
- Hi, my name’s Jess and I’m addicted to country music. Like really. My Spotify country playlist is pretty much played from beginning to end almost every day. I’ve even had to add a roadtrip around America’s south to my bucket list for the sole reason that I want to get to the roots of country music…and potentially to buy a pair of authentic cowboy boots. In my next life I’m coming back as a country singer. Yee haw.
So that’s it folks. Don’t be shy. Introduce yourself. Gimme a hello. We’re about to become BFFs after all right?!
